December Events

I think our most exciting part of December was when we found out we were not only getting one boy but two!  I went in to a standard ultrasound just to hear the heartbeats. {I get them every week - seriously!!}  I was 14 weeks and had heard that is when you can finally tell the gender.  So I said is there anyway you can just take a peek to see what they are. {Since it was just suppose to be for heartbeats- and I really didn't want to get charged for a full ultrasound}
She said "sure.  Looks like baby b is a boy.  And baby A's legs are crossed so I can't tell. "
I was stunned.  Really??  Just like that a boy.
Now the heartbeats have been totally different baby b has always been in the 140's and baby A in the 160's so I thought for sure one boy one girl.
So the next week I went in for my weekly ultrasound and she said "baby A is a boy".  I kind of thought she was still talking about the first one, and so I was like what is the other one?? She said "a boy".

Just casual like 2 boys is no big deal.  HELLO!!  REALLY BIG DEAL!
I was going to tell Tom in a cute way but he was out of town and I didn't think I could not tell him for a full week.  He was busy in a training for his new job, but they stopped the class so he could find out and than he told everyone and they all cheered and were excited for him.  It was a great day.
We are SO SO excited.  It seems so perfect to  end with 2 boys - they will have each other and hopefully be best buds.

Our friends the Jenson's came down just for the day, and we hung out - went out to lunch - shopping.  The usual fun times.  The kids got their letters to Santa all done.

**Most all the photos were taken with my iphone so the quality isn't that great.**

Alyvia and I went on a Mommy daughter date.  I was craving some Olive Garden - endless soup and breadsticks.  A kid in her class brought pizza to school for his birthday so she wanted a big bowl of ice cream instead of food.

I decided to make the boys matching quilts for their beds.  I am going with a vintage look, I have tons of vintage crates, an vintage looking gas pump, and tons of cute ideas to make from pinterest so I thought I would start now will I actually can see my feet and get things done.  I was super excited and than I went to the fabric store and was SOOO disappointed.  They had nothing!!  I called my Grandma on my way home just to say Hi, she ended up telling me she had tons of flannel she wasn't using.  YES!!

So on over Christmas I got down and sewed one of the quilts.  My grandma has an amazing sewing machine and I love love love using it.  So I got started.  I will show the finish product later.  They turned out way cute, I am very excited!!

Tom just got called as the 2nd councilor in the young mens our ward and so the boys took a trip to Pine Valley for the night.  So a few of my friends whose husbands went to got together and the kids made Christmas trees with sugar cones - thank you pinterest!

and finally we went to Saint George - yes again - the post should have been titled Our December in Saint George - we went to the annual Stucki Family Christmas Party.
We always sing Christmas songs with the homemade bells.

The girls just love going to see all their cousins.

As the kids sing jingle bells - there is always a visit from Santa

They always get a early present.  This year everyone got old old old school toys. The girls got spinning tops -- they weren't quite sure about them at first but once they knew what they were they loved them.

The women got scarfs and the adult men got PJ's.  Here is Tom and his brothers.  I don't think he thought that this would end up on the blog.  But what do you expect??

Isn't my husband a cutie!!

I was going to say what mindi said??? Looks like you had a fun and busy month. I saw that you called me tonight as we were moving my sister into her house so I didn't answer and I just got home. Call me tomorrow when you aren't busy!
