My little girl is growing up - The BIG 8!

My first born is 8.  It doesn't seem like that long ago - when the dr. laid her on my tummy and I cried.  I couldn't believe she was mine.  She was so beautiful and precious.  And now 8 years later.  She is still our beautiful and precious girl.  Emma is the BEST big sister.  I could not have gotten luckier.  She loves her little sisters and will pause at any time to help them out.  The other day her and Lyvi were running to the bus and Lyvi tripped and fell.  Emma was way in front and stopped and ran back, helped her up, put her arm around her and helped her get onto the bus.  I really was teary-eyed.  It was so sweet and kind.  That is the kind of person she is.  She loves everyone!!  She is smart and witty.  She is SUPER creative.  She is an amazing artist.  She comes up with all these creative projects and drawings.  And she is always making Chloe cute kitties and butterfly mask. Whatever she makes she makes 100 of them so she can hand them out to all her friends.  A couple weeks ago she made a bunch of wallets with cell phones and credit cards for her friends at school so at recess they could play with them.
She is super excited about the babies and I know she will be a big help. We love her so much and are so grateful she came to us and first.  What a great example she is to her sisters!!

So of course donuts in bed.
Her birthday was on Sunday this year.  She got brand new scriptures with her name on them and a cute scripture bag -- that I wanted to keep for myself. She got lots of money, the new girl lego cafe' and than she went and bought more legos with her money.  {Between her and Lyvi they have almost the whole set now. } She got a pogo stick.  And the princess wii game that she really wanted...{see her face below - she was super excited!!} We went to cheesecake factory the night before with Tom's parents -- cause Emma REALLY wanted claim chowder for her birthday dinner.
So on her birthday we did tacos and my brother and parents came over to help us celebrate {and watch the super bowl}
We had cake - not my finest design - but I actually forgot about dessert. {darn pregnant brain!}
We had a great time celebrating her birthday. It always turns into a 2 week party with taking donuts into her classroom, the whole weekend of her birthday - Valentines day and Lyvi's birthday - we are sick with sugar by the end!

Here is one of her drawings. She drew some Monster high dolls.
