China Day 1 and 2
Day 1: Obviously we spent day one on the airplane. We left at Monday at 9:00 flew to LA and then the horribly long long long flight to Shanghai. I thought it would be bad but it was worse! We were feed and I watched movies and thought this won't be too bad, and then I looked at the count down clock and I had only been on the plane for 3 hours and still had ten left.
We checked into the hotel and went to sleep.
Day 2: Shanghai. We walked around downtown {behind me is where they threw the hundreds of pigs in the water to drowned them?? - a month ago the whole thing was full of pigs - that would have been funny to see} We took a taxi to the silk market. There is so much fun stuff you can buy. You can have clothes custom tailored. Tom's suit was $85, his shirts $12 and they are SO nice. I got a custom fit coat for $60.
I bought scarfs, tie's for the boys, a new coat. Tom got fitted for his custom suit, and shirts.
We walked around the city. It was crazy because according to my mom 80% off the population is really poor. Their standard of living is crazy. Below is showing how most of them live. {At least in Shanhai} Even my mom hangs her clothes outside.
