China's Terra Cotta Soldiers and the 8 mile City Wall

Very cool and still old traditions were still very present in China.  I loved this little boat on the channel down a random alley.

Tried some of these dumplings, they were a little too squishy for my taste, but super cute!

We road bikes around this largest city wall still standing, it was 8 miles.  It was very fun cause tom and I rode a tandem bike, but the road was not in the best shape so it totally hurt our bums.

They still had the outfits they use to wear on, and would do several show through out the day.

You can't see the side but this went back probably football field length and was made entirely of huge christmas ornament balls.

Playing an old traditional game.

A chinese boy came up and wanted to play with us, he played with us for probably an hour, it was pretty fun.  They loved americans and he loved practicing his english on us.  I love this shot cause my mom totally missed it. LOL.  {She will probably kill me for posting this one!}

One of my favorite things to see was the soldiers.  So the story behind it was that some crazy emperor decided when he died he wanted his tomb to be protected so he had men build these soldiers complete with leather and painted and amazing details, and then he had them covered and buried.  He then had all the men that worked on them killed. In 1974 a farmer was digging a well and found one of the heads.  They uncovered it and have found 8,000 if these soldiers, they think there could be hundreds of more sites with all these soldiers and horses that were suppose to protect this guy.. They are very big on their after life and traditions, but it's crazy to me with all the detail.  The farmer is still just a farmer and is still poor. They took all his land.  He was actually at the place signing autographs and getting a few dollars in tips to sign pictures.  It is crazy cause in American he probably would be very wealth.  The Chinese government is waiting to get better technology before they try to uncover more.  Each piece has been put back together perfectly, although they use to be painted.  Oh and I didn't realize that when they found these they were pretty much all destroyed and have been put back together. It was sooo amazing!!

Here are ones they are trying to still find pieces and put back together
