General Conference October 2014

8:29 PM OUR FULL HOUSE 1 Comments

I absoultely love conference.  I love the peace it brings.  I didn't take a pic but the girls and I went to women's broadcast the week before, we went to dinner with a couple other mom's and their girls to Cafe Rio.  I loved all the messages!  Don't forget to leave a comment telling me your favorite talk or thing you do with your kids.  I might have to go back and read it if you do!!
Here a few of my favorites:

Elder Uchtdorf's talk:
We are all children of God we have a purpose & destiny. Inspire to do good. That we should follow God's commandments, even when they are difficult.

I liked Linda Burton's talk likening our lives to the 10 virgins and how we need to consistnely fill our buckets with drops so that we can be worthy and prepared.

I loved loved loved Elder Hales talk here.  He reminded us that we need to be reading scriptures, saying prayers, going to the temple, going to church.  That if we aren't doing these things then why not? Just do them!!  Very blunt and to the point and I liked it.

I loved President Monson's talk on Enduring to the End, What matter of me ought you be? The many parabales he reminded us we need to do. Stand up for our beliefs. Let Our light shine. Morally clean in thoughts and actions. Love/Serve. Improve ourselves. Christ Center of our lives.  By doing those things we will be guided safely home.

I loved Hugo Martinez talk when it said First Observe than serve. Along the road there are people placed for us. In return we can be there for others if we prepare ourselves.

And Elder Lynn Robbins talk.  His talk on which way do you face? Do you face the Lord or man? If you know the Savior you know The Father.

They were all sooo good I could keep going on and on.  But go read the ones above { The link is in the word talk} they are so great.

So this year instead of doing kits, and having tons of "stuff" I decided to go with simple.  Emma made this cute sign and I bought 4 bags of candy.  It was perfect.  It helped the kids listen and they had a little notebook they could draw or take notes.  Every time they heard someone cry they got to eat a chocolate hug, every time someone said or bared their testimony they got a bear {gummy bear},  Any time their was laughter they got a snickers, and anytime they heard anything about being grateful they got a candy corn.

The boys did pretty good playing with toys and each other.
