Grandpa E's Funeral.
We went over to visit Grandma & Grandpa E a few weeks ago. I am so happy I decided to take some photos of the kids listening to grandpa tell some stories and share candy and would always hid special rocks & shells in the back yard for the kids to find {they called it treasure},he always did this every time we went over. This was the last time the kids got to see Grandpa before he died. He waved to a neighbor and turned weird and fell. He broke his hip, surgery was good but he was so worried about getting home and got out of bed again and fell. His body couldn't handle it and he died. We were all shocked of his passing cause it came out of nowhere. The day after he fell they needed someone to go sit with him to make sure he didn't try to get out of bed. We chatted for 4 hours and I loved to hear stories of him growing up on a ranch and what a hard worker he was. Life is so cushy for my kids {and for me growing up}
Here are pictures of the funeral. Tom got to be part of the funeral. It was so good to hear all the stories of what an amazing man he was, how many people he touched and how much he accomplished in his life. It reminded me that I need to make the most of my life and try to be the best person I can be. Life can be long and full like my Grandpa E's or short. We don't know and so we just need to always be our very best. I love the quote. "Today is God's gift, that is why it's called the present" Live every day as a gift from our God!!
