School starting already?

Monday night we did Family Home Evening and father blessings.  Something we have done since Emma started pre-school.  I looked over and the girls were cuddled like this and it melted my heart!

The girls all took turns getting their blessings, and they were amazing.  Emma was crying, I was crying, Tom was crying. We have such amazing girls who have the biggest hearts. They have a lot of challenges a head of them to try to always choose the right, and as a mother that terrifies me.  Things were bad when I was younger so I can only imagine.  That is why it is so important to have FHE, scriptures and prayers every day.  As mothers we can only try to do our very best and hope it is good enough that our kids make good choices.  Is crazy how fast they grow up.  I see the picture below and they look so grown up all squeezed on the couch.  And then I had Tom give me a blessing and oh man I needed one.  I am so grateful that he honors the priesthood and that he can give me a blessing. His words were encouraging and just what I needed.

We had a simple family home evening.  Each kid picked a pencil that had a principle on it.
Then they explained What the principle means, they kept taking turns till all the principles were done.  They each picked one that they really wanted to focus on.  Almost all of us picked that we would try to make sure we always had the Light of Christ.  The kids enjoyed the Family Home Evening, it was simple but effective. Here are some of the phrases that we want our kids to work on each day especially while they are away at school:

Be a good example
Do unto others
Help Others
Be a leader
Be Kind
Work Hard
 Stand Up for the Right
 Choose Good Friends
Be a Leader For Good
Get Good Grades
Learn
Follow the Rules
Be a Star!
Be an Example
Be Tough
Read
Be Happy
Let Your Light Shine
Light of Christ

And here are a few more photos we took before they left for school:
